My To-Wants for Q2 2025

4 minutes

It’s already the second quarter of the year. The first quarter of the year is over. What have I accomplished? What are my goals for the second quarter?

My Professional Goals

During a small survey among my followers, half voted for separating my professional Instagram account from my private one, while the other half were fine with keeping everything together. So, I decided to keep it simple and continue using just one account.

I haven’t made progress on the FIPPS social business model, as I haven’t heard back from the project leader. I started to redesign my website—learning the Gutenberg system and working on the typographic design have been the most time-consuming parts.

I wrote 5 blog posts, including one expert article on scientific poster design. I also published 7 reels on Instagram and received positive feedback on my hiking reels 😅 and on my political story reposts.

Additionally, I was invited to provide design consulting for the redesign of a members’ magazine for Germany’s largest chemical association, and I was asked to lead two workshops on poster design.

Here are my professional and business goals for the 2nd quarter:

  1. Make a great night of science with an improved course of life
  2. Nearly finalize the design of the Institute’s research report
  3. Approve and implement the facade banner design
  4. Implement the printed bulletin board outlining the Institute’s support services.
  5. Hold 2 poster design workshops
  6. Update the services on my website
  7. Write 5 blog articles, including one on health communication
  8. Decide whether or not to change my website theme
  9. Hold a Barcamp session on how to make website text more readable

My Health Goals

I am satisfied with achieving almost all of my health goals for the first quarter. The only area that still needs improvement is my phone screen time—but at least there are moments when I don’t feel a strong urge to check my phone. I will continue with most of my goals from the first quarter:

  1. Sleep for at least 8 hours 5 times a week
  2. Reduce my phone screen time to 3 hours per day
  3. Exercise two times per week
  4. Go sailing once a week
  5. Take a walk in the woods once per week
  6. Stretch daily
  7. Join the Pfingsten orientation run with my son

My Home Goals

Home goals are the ones I follow through on the least. The ones I chose for the last quarter are still worth achieving. So I will put them back on the list:

  1. Sell my old computer screen
  2. Declutter 5 paper stacks
  3. Clean and wax my hiking shoes
  4. Wash my sailing gear
  5. Clean the top of my wardrobe
  6. Put my cloth ton on the top of my wardrobe
  7. Frame and hang two works of art
  8. Plant spring flower onions and seeds

My Travel Goals

The second quarter of the year marks the beginning of a busy travel period. In the first quarter, I completed one of two planned trips. I had to cancel my visit to the Accessibility Barcamp in Ludwigshafen due to a cold, and I attended the Max Planck Society’s Disability Officers’ Conference with just one set of clothes and no makeup—after accidentally leaving my trolley on the train while sitting in on a job interview as the deputy disability officer. 😅

Luckily, no one cared about my appearance. I truly appreciated the caring and inspiring people I met at the conference—individuals who work tirelessly toward creating more inclusive workplaces!

I am looking forward to many exciting trips in the coming months:

  1. Attend The Content Society live event in Stuttgart, Germany
  2. Check off a place on my bucket list by traveling to Cappadocia
  3. Attend Junior Chamber International Germany’s Senators Conference in Cuxhaven
  4. Participate in the Hesse Regatta on the Baltic Sea
  5. Visit Warsaw for the Ecsite conference

At the same time, I know that I need to take better care of my health, as traveling requires extra energy.

My Personal Goals

I managed to achieve almost all of my personal goals for the first quarter—except for having weekly reflection sessions with my brother. I realized that it was putting pressure on him, and other matters, like caring for our father, were more urgent for him.

We were able to find a caregiving service for our father, and I tried to ease his anxiety about whether everything would work out.

Here are the goals I achieved in the first quarter and plan to continue with:

  1. Have deep talks with my child every week
  2. Making my child laugh at least once a day
  3. Have deep talks with friends once a week
  4. Meeting friends once a week
