12 of 12: A day in August

1/12: The day starts with a lot of overthinking in bed, before I finally get up and take shower and drink a warm milk tea. It’s a warm summer day. I feel fortunate to be able to live in peace and to be healthy. I check the news. The summer is dry, the forests are burning and humans and animals are dying from drought. I feel helpless.
1/12: I take my bike onto the subway. Before that, I bought leftover grapes at the market in front of the station. I fill them in an old paper bag I brought from home. I put them in the bike basket my mother found on the street, which is attached to my used bike I bought for 10€ from a neighbour. It’s a great bike that saves me a lot of nerves, because I don’t have to be constantly afraid that it will be stolen. I look at my flip flops and feel grateful I work at a place where flip flops are totally fine.
